Cb Radio Range Cb Radio Range Distance?

Cb radio range distance? - cb radio range

I have a CB radio antenna 8 feet. I ran a coaxial cable that directly connects to the antenna and the connector on the CB radio. However, to the extent of the unit is less than a half-mile to see where I am. Is there evidence or amplifier Remida you can have this.

Amplifiers are illegal.

Half a mile is very common when bands are loud.

Check the SWR of the antenna. If the SWR is high, doubled the issuer to avoid damage to the station.

CA is a good thing in a 3:1 ratio of standing waves. Lower, the better, but 3:1 is acceptable.

The antenna must be at least 9 meters, 27 MHz, 1/4WAVE is 108 cm.

Half a mile sounds like you have a problem until you try to communicate through a mountain.

A good thing to consider is to ensure that applies the power of radio to the antenna. Radio Shack has a meter that the power of radio and effectiveness of your antenna test:

When the radio antenna and check-out, then it is a good legal way to strengthen their power. CB radios are legally limited to 5 watts.

Amateur radio operators can legally be used up to 1000 watts. This is a great hobby:

Your problem is the antenna, radio, or both.
First I would like to examine the relationship of the wave antenna (I have no friend with an SWR meter?)
Together is the best thing you can do to improve reporting.
If this deal does not get a friend to his radio antenna.
And, finally, to examine the radius of the antenna.
Some stations just do not run a better performance and various antennas well.
Good luck!
